Ruby Ribbon sold wire-free shapewear that worked as everyday clothing. The best-known pieces were the Cami, a shaping camisole with built-in bust support, and the Demiette, a shorter bra-style version. Around them sat shaping shorts, briefs, bodysuits, leggings and, in some years, tops, skirts and dresses. Pieces were graded on a support scale from light smoothing to maximum compression, and sizes ran up to a 50 band. Most buyers were women who wanted to stop wearing underwire bras, and many first tried the line at a friend's trunk show.
